Just Dreadful Online Spooky Trinket Shop

I am so excited to officially open the Just Dreadful online shop! I've been putting off this getting done for quite a while. Right now you can find some spooky jewelry and fashion accessories. In the future, I will be offering more geeky themed items, and products like prints, art, sculpture, novelties, publications and more.

I've always loved spooky things and all that goes bump in the night. Creating horror-ble art and wearables became a great way for me to express my inner Wednesday Addams and creepy fascinations.

Not all items or parts of items are brand new. I collect old things to use in my creations and repurpose a lot of old and broken jewelry. Each piece purchased is sure to be a unique trinket wrapped with a bit of history and energy.

A lot of my art in any medium is inspired by Halloween, spookiness, the supernatural, the occult, horror, steampunk and witchcraft of various kinds around the world.

I can't wait until the comic book and media side of Just Dreadful gets on the way so I can share more creative, macabre materia with you.

If you happen to be the spooky weirdo on the block like me, you will find some trinkets to fascinate your morbid mind.

Vertigo's Preacher Comic AMC Show Adaption

On Thursday May 19th, the 92Y in Manhattan had an advanced screening of Preacher followed by a Q&A with the cast, creators and executive producers. I am lucky enough to have a pal who works there, and was able to snag a ticket to this awesome event (it's okay to be jealous). After checking it out, I think fans of Preacher will be pleased with the series!

Based on the Vertigo comic series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, the show definitely captures the vibe of the "anything can happen", fucked up, multi-genre thrill ride.

The first episode introduces you to the main characters and how very damaged and restless they are. This applies to the side characters as well as the main characters. It just wouldn't be Vertigo related if there weren't screwed up individuals all over the place, am I right? With just the little taste of what was given in the first episode, I imagine I will not be disappointed once the REALLY twisted characters start coming in.

It makes no difference to me if it is Halloween or not. Spooky is a state of being. With or without festive decorations, these raw sugar cookie balls are really easy to make.

Blast-A-Trooper at New York Comic Con 2015

The Empire City Garrison invaded New York Comic Con 2015 and let people shoot at them... for charity! Bob DeSimone with the 501st Legion tells us some of the organizations purpose, and how they raised money at NYCC in a fun way.

The Legion is an all-volunteer organization formed with the purpose of bringing together Star Wars fans and its costume enthusiasts. They seek to promote an interest in Star Wars by building and wearing costumes, as well as use these costumes in events, and to help contribute to the community through charity and volunteer work. The Legion is happy to help you with your own events, and welcome your inquiries.
