The founders of Checkpoint have been organizing geek themed events at a variety of venues throughout NYC for years. The next natural step is setting out to open their own geek themed bar to really get the party crack-a-lackin, and all us geeks are invited to have a hand in it!
Checkpoint will be a fun "sports bar" type of place where every fandom is welcomed. It will be one of the only places in New York City where you can enjoy affordable drinks in recognizable geek themed booth. Want to drink some Blue Milk in the Cantina and shoot first? You can do that! Other booths to look forward to are Star Trek and Sherlock Holmes among others. Checkpoint also anticipates having many props adorning the venue including a TARDIS, Captain America Shield, Cybermen and more.
Checkpoint will hold different events and happenings throughout the year. No more waiting until a comic con after party, or special event to hang out with your fellow geeks and get your fandom on. Every day of the week is potentially a geek party! Specific nights are planned to be put aside for gaming, tournaments, cosplay nights, movie and show screenings and other geek happenings.
